Who we are for

According to Government sources “nearly half of Tasmanians would benefit from the services of Print Radio Tasmania.”

We are a community radio station providing reading services for people with a print disability. Many Tasmanians are able to benefit from accessing printed information, they would otherwise be unable to realise.

Our listeners include:

  • Blind and vision impaired people unable to read newspapers and magazines.

  • Older people who may find it difficult to read smaller print.

  • People with arthritis or other physical problems who may have , for example, trouble holding a book or newspaper.

  • People with poor literacy skills who need to keep up to date with what is going on around them.

  • People who understand English as a second language but cannot read it easily.

Other listeners include those, as an example driving and shift working, who derive benefit and pleasure from a friendly and informative radio presence.
