Episode 123: TJ Lawson (CSIRO)

In this episode we hear Craig's interview with TJ Lawson, who is a Senior Research Technician with CSIRO Environment, based in Hobart, and whose work mainly focuses on applying GIS and remote sensing tools to address environmental management issues.  His career to date has included working in many environments, both terrestrial and marine, both in Australia and internationally.  Before and after joining CSIRO in 2007, TJ has been involved in projects spanning a broad range of research topics: dugong abundance, avian malaria, rainforest fragmentation, fire and biodiversity, exotic pests, climate modelling for restoration, and illegal fishing in Indonesia. And since 2013 his work and research has had a main focus on the issue of marine debris, and he is a key member of CSIRO’s National Marine Debris and Global Plastics To Oceans projects.
