Episode 146: Stu Nichols (Personalised Sea Charters)

Vibes Under the Sea Episode 146
Craig Proctor with Print Radio Tasmania

Craig's interview guest in this episode is Stu Nichols, who, with his family, has run Personalised Sea Charters, a fishing charter business out of Eaglehawk Neck on Tasman Peninsula, since 1998. Prior to running fishing charters Stu was a bank manager; so a classic case of a complete career sea change. We hear Stu talk of many things - the ins and outs of establishing and running the charter business, the various fish species targeted, his extraordinary marine life encounters, and the changes he has witnessed out in the briney over the years. And this includes talking about the changes in the mindset of his fishing clients around sustainable fishing practices.  Stu also relates the history of the tradition where almost every shack or house in the famous seaside town, Doo Town, where he lives, bears a pun-filled name containing the word "Doo".
