Episode 136: Bob Drysdale (Commercial fisher - retired) - Part 1
Craig's interview guest in this episode is Bob Drysdale, a former dairy farmer at Ouse in Tasmania's Central Highlands who, in 1979, moved to Eaglehawk Neck on Tasman Peninsula and became a commercial fisher for rock lobster and other species including trevalla and stripey trumpeter, and doing occasional tuna fishing charters. Bob spent around 33 years fishing in Tasmania’s south-east and west coast waters. He is also an experienced boat builder having built "about five" fishing boats through his boat building career. In this Part 1 we hear Bob, now 84 years old, reflecting entertainingly on his farming days and also his passage into commercial fishing. He also expresses his strong thoughts on the importance of sustainable fishing. Part 2 of Bob's interview will feature as the first half of the next episode of Vibes Under The Sea.
